Come join us for a reunion July 12 at the Huntington Reservation in the Cleveland Metroparks, where we've reserved a covered canopy from 10AM to 10PM. Hi Everyone. This is Jenny; Bobbie's brother, Wayne, is my dad. My sister is Laura. The reunion is in my area, as Ohio was the most central location for any who might attend.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the facilities, there are a few things you might like to know.
*The water is a huge lake (Lake Erie) and is a short walk (maybe 7 minutes max) from the canopy. You can swim and sunbathe there. They also have a local treasure Ice Cream stand, Honey Hut, which will be opened.
*There is also a wonderful Nature and Science Center across the field (about a 1 minute walk from the canopy)which features lots of live animals, a planetarium, nice restrooms, AC, a gift shop and more.
*There is also a very nice hiking trail in the woods that surround the canopy area; it includes huge cliffs, a large creek and a multitude of wildlife and insects (for Chris and Katie).
*In open space at the canopy we'll have 2 baseball diamonds, a couple of large fields for random play and a horseshoe toss (but I think we'll need to bring our own tossing items). SO BRING WHATEVER TOYS YOU THINK YOU MIGHT WANT! Sadly, I have no baseball gear, but I can bring some playground balls.
*Closer to the Lake you can find a Coffee House in an old train depot, a store selling local artisans' work (Bay Arts), highly likely there will be live music there that weekend, and a Huntington Playhouse where the plays are top-notch.
